Hi all-- First time posting to the list. I'm the proud owner of a G5 1.8 DP, which I got used off ebay.
I had to reseat the DVD drive, since the tray kept banging into door opening... anybody else have this problem? Anyway, I propped up the back of the drive with a stack of postits to angle it correctly, does anyone think this will be a danger? I don't think the bottom of the DVD drive or the "shelf" it sits on gets THAT hot... But my main problem seems to be the airport card. It seems very weak. I recently bought an Airport Express that I have in my living room to use with my stereo. The computer barely detects it, and does so intermittently. If I turn my linksys wifi router which is 1 foot away from the computer, yes it does detect that. However it doesn't detect any of my neighbors wifi signals at all. By contrast my roommate's G4 powerbook 12" detects all the neighboring signals as well as my airport express in the living room. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? Should I just get a new card? Thanks for all your help in advance! Kind Regards, Manoel Felciano -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
