Tis a logical progression of technology. The traditional electromechanical HD is a fragile, slow, power-sucking, heat-making brick tied to the computer's forehead. Getting rid of it is a Good Thing.

I remember buying a sweet RAM disk a few years back... It was 128 MB, for only $280,000!!!!
