There is some little application around, which resets the settings to
anything you want. The name eludes me at the moment, however....

Found both a resetting app & a ripping app upon trolling the Net, but
both were for OS9. And Powebooks don’t boot in OS9...
The rippin’ I can live without, but resetting that stupid counter I
must be able to! And: Wonder if I stuff away DVDplayer & use only VLC
player, can I then fool the countdown mechanism? My PC friend has
exceeded his limit on hios windows box, but plays b oth zone 1 & 2
dvds just fine with VLC...
