Yes, the Apple lasers I have used through the years have been of
astonishing quality. Just runs and runs and runs for years, even in the
most smoky, dusty and inhospitable environments. A pitty they don't
make LWs anymore
I also have a 1993 LaserWriter Pro 630 Ethernet connected to my system,
as I have since the day I bought it, and it runs fine on my Dual 2.0 G5
with OS X, just as it did on my old Quadra 800 and B&W G3. My wife's
iMac prints on it wirelessly through a router/hub. It has always been a
great printer, in daily use all these years. You can use HP toner
available anywhere. Hint: the X versions are a great value and there
are usually coupons available online.
According to MacTracker (and Apple Support) the 630 and 810 models have
Ethernet (10 Base T) but the 600 does not.
