If it feels slower than it used to be, clear out the logs with
something like MacJanitor, Onyx or any of the myriad other system
utilities.
Clear off enough space on your hard drives. Unix, OS X included
*really* doesn't like full hard drives. Get a big external drive,
copy your data to it, reformat your data drive and copy it all back.
This is about the only time defragging a drive will help, and doing
it my way is safest.
if it's in comparison to a newer system, well, get the newer system.
You certainly can't upgrade it any more than it is, at least not cost-
effectively, other than getting more memory for it. If it was
originally a 466,. then at the most it has a 100 Mhz bus, going up to
a newer system will get you a lot faster bus.
