Here are the symptoms – on boot get the disk symbol with the flashing
question mark.

The boot has failed to find a bootable system on a usable HD partition.

When I boot to a cd to try to reload – I get a message that tells me the
system time is wrong.

The PRAM battery is probably dead or dying.

CD symbols as the wallpaper - and all I hear is the same two toned song.
Baaaaaah-Deep! Baaaaaah-Deep!

Back'o'me'brain says this noise at this point in the CD boot indicates a cache or other hardware failure. Not sure tho.

Unplug the hard drives.
Zap the PRAM.
Then boot from the CD...

One piece of advice I am already looking into is GET a blue and white or a
G4 or better. I know (but finances don’t allow that att).

I like my B&W. Just make sure it's a rev 2.
