Back'o'me'brain says this noise at this point in the CD boot indicates a cache or other hardware failure. Not sure tho.
Unplug the hard drives. Zap the PRAM. Then boot from the CD...
One piece of advice I am already looking into is GET a blue and white or a G4 or better. I know (but finances dont allow that att).
