the nomenclature lists "IN" after the 400 & 500, respectively, and I am unable to figure what this means. [I have checked the TechSpecs for each of
these machines, and am still unable to clarify the meaning of "IN".]

On the Indigo 400 iMac, the nomenclature lists "APR" after the VGA adapter,
and this also baffles me.


"IN" is Apple's abbreviation for Indigo. "APR" means the iMac was equipped with an Airport card at the factory.
