Speaking of zones and DVDs. Have you heard about the latest fiasco?
Spielberg will not be nominated for the (I think) British or European
version of the Oscars. His studio sent DVD copies to be viewed by the
academy over there, BUT the discs were for North American players! They
wouldn't play on the British players.
Serves them right for instituting those stupid zones. Arrrgh! I still
haven't trawled the Net thoroughly enough it seems, to find a
DVD-for-Mac-counter-resetter-for-OSX. Surely someone must have
written something like that? Why should I suffer because I prefer to
use my Mac as a DVD player & live in Europe, but get Zone 1 discs as
gifts from Americans? Makes we want to do something mean to those
Zone-people. Stick a banana in their exhaust pipe or something...
