In a sense, by treating all files the same in terms of formatting . . .

I really dislike the idea that BBEdit forgets my formatting selections when I rename, duplicate, or just allow a file to get old without looking at it. Yeah, I know, Bare Bones likes its way because multiple users of a single file get to have their own choices in an industrial environment.

. . . BareBones produces a software that's a true text editor, not a "word processing" or page-layout document.

I like this feature. When I want more formatting choices, I'll use Microsoft's Word or Mariner's word processor.
