Hi Len, I have a similar set up to you. I've got a G4/566 upgrade in my Beige, also running 10.2.8. I've found that booting with OS 9 devices will sometimes have their way with your PRAM startup disk settings. Trying holding down "D" the moment you hear the startup bong begin. This is supposed to force your Mac to boot from the internal drive. Though if you can't even get to OF with the correct key sequence, I'm not sure you'll have luck with this one. If that doesn't work for you, go to the following URL: http://davespicks.com/writing/programming/mackeys.html There might be something else in there that could help you out.
