I've got a 40 MB Firewire harddisk. My beige G3 MT (running Mac OS 8.6) has
a Firewire card added to it and the three partitions of this HD are
recognized when I power on the drive. I can copy files to a from it.

However, I cannot partition the drive into one large partition. Apple's HD
Setup will only look at the SCSI bus(es) and the ATA bus(es), it won't
recognize the Firewire card nor the drive connected to it.

Is there a program / a possibility to partition the HD with MacOS 8.6?

hum. The tools I just checked require OS 9 or X.

I guess you could pull the IDE drive out of the FW box and plug it directly into your Mac's IDE... Then Apple's util will do it.

Might be easier to just take it to a store that sells Macs and use one of theirs...
