Greets!

This may probably sound kinda crazy. I had my last HDD on my G3/400 smurfie set up with a Panther installation Over a previous 9.2.2 installation, and it worked just fine until the HDD crashed due to years of use and abuse.

I replaced it then with a 80Gb hdd in which I created a 15Gb system partition for Panther, and the remaining space for storage purposes.

Now I want to install OS 9.2.2 again, in order to dual-boot it (plan to use ProTools Free, which does NOT run under Classic mode whatsoever) switching between X and 9 as needed, on the same machine. I don´t want to lose the data I already have in there.

Can I simply install 9 without the erase option and it "would" just love together with the existing X, as when I install X over 9? Or should I erase the partition anyway in order to install 9, and then reinstall X for them to live together happily?

I Tried to install 9 on a separate SCSI disc which I suspect is on its final days since It randomly appears and dissapears between boots... sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn´t. Not much reliable.

I´d put another ATA HDD for 9, but a) The MoBo I currently have installed is a somewhat-damaged Rev. 2 one, which simply will not recognize anything on the second (UltraAta) port, and my "new" mobo for Smurfie has just come, but it is a Rev. 1 and I am somewhat afraid putting a second HDD would makee the whole thing unstable...

Any suggestions welcome!.
