But I am mightily puzzled at how hard =20 it is to batch change using built in facilities. In Tiger, there =20 seems to be trouble telling the machine to open all files that are =20 set to Preview to - instead - Photoshop 5 or 6 (9 apps).
OK? Well I don't know if there is something special about graphics files, but on my Mac with Panther I told it to open all Word files with Mariner Write. Works like a charm - but yes, the icon becomes generic (nice, so I don't have to have anything reminding me of M$!)
And on another Panther machine with OS9 apps installed, they too show up in the Open with... menu in Get Info, at the bottom under a dividing line
