Dear G-List:

I serve a small web site from my Power Mac G4. I also have an older beige G3 which is dedicated to serving a small radio station through Nicecast. Both
of these machines are behind a DI-624 router.

I wanted to set up and serve a simple web site from this older G3. How would I have to configure the G3, which is running Panther (OS X v10.3), and the
router so that it would be accessible to the outside world?

Turn on Personal web service on the G3, move the web site to /Library/ WebServer/Documents, and set the router to forward port 80 requests to the beige. Look up Port Forwarding in the manual.

If your ISP doesn't offer static IP addresses, you'll want to subscribe to a dynamic dns service, such as <http://www.dyndns.com/ services/dns/dyndns/>
