Have Tiger and have reinstalled my set up for third time after disasters (don't ask). Have 3 partitions on a 60G drive in a QS 933. This time I actually typed a password when setting up (in the past I just hit return whenever I was asked to make or use one). I have X on one 30G partition, 9 on a small 6G and the other is a mirror/back up etc.

I have had to fiddle a bit to set up and bring some of my backed up stuff including library items so as to get my email addresses and passwords to servers etc. The details are now unclear to me.

Anyway, much works fine but my keychain has ended up needing a different password (ie. just hit return!) to the main admin one. What I want to know is this: how specifically to make my keychain password the same as my main admin one. Using disk utility it is not obvious to me for some reason? Repairing permissions on the HD vols, does nothing to change this.

On my main X partition - from Get Info - I have owner as system (locked) and read and write, group as adminand read and write, others, read only. Is this wise enough? Should I press the "apply to enclosed items" button? On the 9, I have "ignore ownership permissions", as well as for the mirror.

Security is of no concern to me at all except for keychain items. No one I don't trust fully uses my machine. I want the simplest possible set up requiring the least number of requests to enter passwords. I was rather hoping to set up so as to only be asked for a password if I wanted to see or change my keychain details.
