I'm talking a beige G3 MT with two internal 16GB drives,

Thanks to Len Gerstel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for replying:

If you are using OS X, I would go for the SCSI assuming that
SCSI card is supported. No 8GB limit on the boot partition.

If you use an ata drive to run X on a beige, you need to
partition the disk so that the first partition is less than
8GB and that is where you need to install OS X.

Bottom-posting now: I'm excited to hear that the faster-feeling SCSI
drive is a viable host for OS X, with fewer hangups (no 8GB concern) to
go along with that. So that's what SCSi is good for?

FYI I've recently replaced my perfectly good beige G3 MT with a perfect,
loaded 20-inch iMac G5. The G3 is now a gift on the desk of a friend who
happens to be an excellent jazz pianist. For him, this is a welcome
upgrade. Though my friend uses a wheelchair after his leg amputation
(from diabetes), this computer gives him an extra gear. I'd like to get
him dual bootability!
