1. It may be of interest to some list readers that Gregory L. Doudna has posted 
an article, "4QpesherNahum and the Teacher of Righteousness." He says that the 
teacher was Hyrcanus II.

I think this is not the case, for a variety of reasons that could be discussed, 
should it be of interest here or should Dr. Doudna respond on either list (ane 
or g-megillot).

2. In my view, evidence is increasing that the teacher was Judah the Essene 
(mentioned in Josephus War 1.78f and Antiquities 13.311f); the "wicked priest," 
Alexander Jannaeus.
