James Davila's lecture summary on pesharim http://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/divinity/pesharim.html
makes several good observations; a typo in the second historical allusion section may be worth noting. For "Alexander Hyrcanus" read "Alexander Jannaeus." This may be worth noting because evidence has increased that he was the "wicked priest." For instance, many of the other proposed candidates are too early or too late. best, Stephen Goranson _______________________________________________ g-Megillot mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://mailman.McMaster.CA/mailman/listinfo/g-megillot
