The idea that Apple is condemned to some niche is making some of statement
about the world being about to end or something, and the Great Scorekeeper
is to come out and award the winner's palm to MSFT. It's a big pie, growing
all the time, and I think Apple's slice has the nice crackly bits.

cf NeXTStep, as mentioned elsewhere on this thread. Developers liked it, but
was it for home users/the general population? I don't think so.
