Peter. 10.5 won't officially run on a 700mhz G4 (minimum is 867mhz) that doesn't mean it won't run and run fairly well. I had 10.5 on a 400mhz G4 and it was useable.
Or you could stick with 10.4 which will rocket along with at least 512MB of RAM.
