If you'd mention the OS you're using, and the specific configuration, for example CPU speed, and RAM amount, this would be a good start. Also, what specific application are you using that is so slow? Is it slow in all other applications, or just the one? When asking for computer help, it's best to be as specific as possible in the 1st request, erring toward too much information rather than too little.
