Right at the very top of the support page at Hamrick.com in bold  
letters:

"I'm Ed Hamrick, the author of VueScan, and I personally read and  
respond to all e-mail sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED]".

  There may be some setting in VueScan or there may be some scanner  
profile to change, or it could be a bug in his software.
