No. It's not the Rage 128 video card, but you should try to replace it  
with at minimum a Radeon 7000. Then enable Quartz Extreme with PCI  
Extreme 3.1 and you'll be golden.

Video problems will be manifested as streaks, lines, or "artifacts".  
There are no video problems that remove individual icons or groups of  
icons from the desktop, folders, or dock. This is a system issue of  
some sort. Is the SMART status of the HD OK? The HD verifies OK with  
Disk Utility? I believe some B&W's had an ATA bus issue, you might  
look into that possibility?
