I would not want to see this feature. My reasons: Right now, Flash (to give one example) is distributed by Apple. The vers they distribute is OLD and very buggy. This shows that Apple has little to no commitment to keeping us up to date. Heck, they couldn't even be bothered to include an up to date version of WebKit with Safari! There are some fine pre-packaged auto-update mechanisms available currently. Sparkle, used by many apps, plug-ins, etc, is one such free one. We don't need Apple interfering in what already works. Apple should be FIXING what they currently have, not crushing other developers. The other issue here is that the 3rd party add-ons are simply not ready for this Safari update. So even if Apple gave you 200+ tick-boxes for those items... it would do no good. ...I read an article the other day berating Apple for releasing Safari 3.2.1, because it was "unscheduled". Geeze. If you don't release fixes in a timely fashion, the press rakes you over the coals. And if you do release them as soon as you have 'em, they rake you over the coals anyway!
