I'm seriously considering downgrading my dual 2.3 G5 back to Tiger  
10.4.11. I was hoping Apple would fix these Leopard issues, but so far  
nothing is coming. I think you took the correct solution, and as you  
said, "I think we've solved the problem". The only reason I haven't  
downgraded is because of Leopard's Time Capsule/Time Machine, and  
that's just as bad as the G5 is, and again, no help from Apple. I did  
some benchmarks with firewire HDs with 10.4.11 and 10.5.5 and on my G4  
1.58 GHz Mini and G5 dual 2.3 GHz Tiger was about 20% faster than  
Leopard, which is another reason I should downgrade.
