You were doing a Verify Disk and when it encountered an error, it stopped since it can not do a repair. If you run the Repair option in Disk Utility, it may be able to fix the problem. Run that and let us know if it reports any problems that it can not repair. There are VERY few instances of Disk Utility doing additional damage, but it never hurts so run your backup now. Make sure not to over write your previous one just in case.
