Hi All, I just bought a Maxtor 250GB USB2/Firewire 400 external drive... Connected via USB. I want to format (erase) it as Mac OS. The format fails, saying I don¹t have the permission to do so. Ah... I have an administrator account, so why? Anyway, I log in as root. Try to format the drive and and I¹m told I don¹t have the permission to do so. WHAT??? Who has more permission in =my= computer than the root user????
