I make a backup copy (clone) of my drive on my Yikes! to an external
FW HD connected to my QS 2002 via my Network. Both machines are
connected to my home network via hardwire / ethernet cables.

I use CCC 3.1.3 (new version does nicely across a network). See:
http://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html

There are other ways to connect and copy experienced others may be
inclined to share.
