after posting, I discovered on their website that the Guardian and OWC
units are safe to store well below 0°. Operation temps are a different
story however.

When you say "leapfrog", do you mean just swap them each week? How do
you go about using Time Machine in your backup regime; do you keep
that *third TM* attached to your main HD non stop? AND/OR *somehow*
backup your 2 externals to it or with TM - or??? If I make clone
backups on both external drives and then {with lots of outside
assistance!} determine the ideal method to update each of them on a
regular basis, what is the advantage of using TM - especially for a
moron like ME?
Any elaboration is appreciated!
