The Sawtooth, Yikes, and B&W G3s all use the same power supply. I've never done such a motherboard swap, but you'll probably need to worry about mounting points for the motherboard and of course the back panel ports. You'll also need a new processor and heatsink, plus mounts for those. You can use the same video card if you want. A Gigabit Ethernet motherboard should also fit with the same amount of work, but you'll need to modify the power supply to power it. Knowing what the Sawtooth and later systems sell for these days, it really doesn't seem worth the effort to tap new holes and do all the work to make it fit. Of course it's up to you in the end, and you may not have much of a budget for an upgrade, but you can pick up a Digital Audio G4 or later system for under $100 shipped on ebay if you're patient. -Donald Hall http://atxg4.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
