Linda, this may be rather unhelpful, but I'll give it a go anyway -

I know in OS 10.4.11 I had to import my old mail into the new version  
of Apple Mail.

Dunno if this is the way it works in Leopard, though.

Not to worry about the mail because the posts should all there and  
accessible to any
modern mail program.

You might have to tell it again what your service is, etc. Or you  
might not.
