Dennis,
   You can start iTunes from iCal. The Help menu in iCal explains how  
to set an alarm for an event. One of the options for the alarm is  
opening a file. Choose a song (or playlist, etc) from iTunes. I've  
done that very thing quite often. You can wake up every morning to  
Sonny and Cher, just like Groundhog Day.
