Automotive paint stores have wet sanding paper of 1000 or even finer grit. Depending on how deep the scratches are you may need to start with 600. Remove the bezel from the machine if possible. This will allow using enough water Modelers supply companies such as Micro-Mark have very fine paper and grades of plastic polish. They have paper as fine as 12,000 grit!
