To see if you have bad ram you can put one stick in the first slot and take out the rest. Then start the computer and see if it works. Then turn off the computer and do the same with the second stick of ram. Then put the first stick of ram in the second slot and turn on the computer, then the second stick. If one of the pieces of ram or one of the slots is bad this will tell you.
