Not to be argumentative, just informative: my Seagate PATA 80GB harddrive shows up under Disk Utility as an ATA drive: Disk Description : ST380021A Total Capacity : 74.5 GB (80,026,361,856 Bytes) Connection Bus : ATA Write Status : Read/Write Connection Type : Internal S.M.A.R.T. Status : Verified Connection ID : Device 1 Partition Scheme : Apple Partition Map The Sonnet (Ultratek) PCI ATA100 is what I am using for my ATA channel. The harddrive does not show up under System Profiler's ATA listing nor does it show up under what Apple calls Parallel SCSI. When I highlight the listing of the PCI card, the drive does not show up there ... just the PCI card. I'm not sure who told me there is a "known bug" in Tiger regarding listing of PATA harddrives. I do remember along the way that they were treated as some form of SCSI. So if the PCI cards model them as SCSI, is that why they don't show up in Tiger's Apple System Profiler?
