Not that I remember. Do the files have .jpg as the extension? Try  
forcing Irfanview to 'Open any file' and select one. Most of the time  
it's because Windows doesn't know what to do with files that have no  
extension. Jpegs are jpegs are jpegs, there's no difference in the  
file format between OS X and Windows.

The 'ghost files' Doug is referring to are easy to spot, they're  
actually named "._name_of_file"
