I have been given a PowerBook G4 Titanium (2003?) OS 10.3.9 but without its
45 watt mains power adapter. However I do have a spare Pismo/Lombard
circular adaptor which is also rated at 45W and 24 volts.

Problem is that the power socket on my "new" machine is 2.5mm stereo which
illuminates when in use and the old Pismo/Lombard plug is 3.5mm (without a
light).

Question: if I fit a 2.5mm plug to the older adaptor (making sure of the
correct polarity, assuming the inner lead is + and the screen is negative)
do I need to worry about it not having a built in light?

I would be grateful for any comments on this matter and also any URLs which
might be useful.

Very many thanks in advance

Michael
