I don't know anything about wireless networking, but I have a Zoom- brand DSL modem attached to my G5 that has an antenna on it, and this modem is transmitting an Internet connection to my daughter's MacBook, upstairs in her room (evidently the MacBook has a factory-installed wi- fi card in it).
My wife has a G4 MDD (a 1.4 GHz Firewire 800 model) in another part of the house, and it seems to me that if I were to put a wi-fi card into her computer, it should pick up the Internet connection too, and give her access to the web. My question is, what sort of a wi-fi card would be compatible with her G4 MDD? Any recommendations on what card to look for? (I assume these wireless cards plug into a PCI slot, or am I mistaken?) Maybe I could get a suitable wi-fi card on the swaplist, if I knew what sort to ask for. Any advice would be much appreciated.
