This is what I thought, too Bruce. The drive from the Beige is a
Quantum ATA drive. It works fine in the Beige....but will not boot
the B&W. Isn't ATA the same as IDE?

Yes. I have a Western Digital in the B&W that works fine. I called
Apple about the jumper settings, and they told me to use CS instead
of Master. The B&W seems to like this setting, but if I install the
Quantum in addition to the WD, the B&W will not boot regardless of
what jumper settings I select.

The B&W that I have is a 450 mhz model, so I am pretty sure that it
is not a first gen.

I have firewire on the Beige via a PCI card, but the B&W and the
Beige can't get together via firewire. I thought I could solve the
problem via the Migration Assistant, but NO GO.
