They finally developed the USB Video Class (UVC), a standard protocol for accessing video devices (cameras, composite video adapters, etc). I don't know what took "them" so long. Some version of Tiger introduced support for UVC cameras. A later version added support for them in iChat. So if you are using 10.4.11 or Leopard then UVC is supported. So any UVC camera can be used with 10.4.11. The problem is that a lot of UVC cameras do not say they are UVC capable on the packaging or in some cases in the manufacturers online docs. But most or all will say they are Vista compliant which is the same thing. -- Clark Martin Redwood City, CA, USA Macintosh / Internet Consulting "I'm a designated driver on the Information Super Highway" --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
