We're not running new rings in a cast-iron engine block. If you run particularly hot after doing something like this, it was done wrong: too much/too little thermal grease, the heat sink isn't properly seated, or the heat sink isn't actually correct for your installation. Were you overheating before? Why did you replace the heat sink?
