Hello everyone...
My wife´s boss gave us for free some old mac equipment, he gave us a Powermac G3 desktop (the greyone), an AGFA Arcus II scanner and a Nikon LS-1000 film scanner both scanners are SCSI. As soon as I get home I opened the mac, changed the CD for a DVD reader and the 6Gb Harddisk with a 40Gb HD and installed OS 9.2.2 Something weird is that the computers tells at its back that is running at 300Mhz but the motherboard has a 233 configuration, only has 2Mb of video and I can only have 640x480 screen resolution... my first question is tha if is posible to someone change the original motherboard sometime and my wife´s boss never noticed it... who knows. The question is... I´m having trouble finding the Nikon LS-1000 software, I donwloaded Nikonscan 3.1 but makes the computer freeze...can anybody can give an advice? Do you think was a good idea to pick the hardware? i´m thinkinf if i should try to find video memory and the PRAM battery that is by the way completly dead. cheers from mexico city --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
