Howdy,
  A local seller has some new Ti4600 cards for $25.  That seems like an
affordable upgrade from the Rage II that my G4 Gigabit came with.  I
think this card was made by nVidia.  You can see it:

 The Mac Elite suggests this chipset as a very compatible one for OSX.

 Do people here agree that would be a good choice for small dollars?  If
it makes a difference, I intend to stay with Tiger for a while.  Maybe
it will be forever on this computer, but I have not made a final
decision.
 If OEM cards are not a good choice, why is that?  I imagine these cards
are OEM, although they could just be old stock.  I can go look at the
card.  It is an hour drive, but it might be worth it if I knew what to
look for.
 Finally, I remember when I was looking at flashing a Radeon a few years
back that some cards did not have enough flash rom space for the Apple
ROM image.  Is that kind of thing still a problem?  If so, does anyone
know what I should look for to see if this would be a good card?
