ah.  Well, eBay's clocks are *often* quite off, so being sync'd to 
the atomic time won't necessarily help there.  Yet-another reason why 
sniping is a bad idea.

Do you have any system log showing the sync failures?  Might be 
interesting to try to figure out the exact cause.
