I have a 2003 MDD whose original graphics card was the ATI Radeon 9000 with 64MB VRAM. Quartz Extreme supported, Core Image not supported.
I recently bought two other video cards: --ATI Radeon 9600 with 64MB VRAM, Quartz Extreme and Core Image both supported. --nVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4600 with 128MB VRAM, Quartz Extreme supported, Core Image NOT supported. Is one of these cards better than the other? I don't notice a difference, but then I am not playing high-end games or editing digital video. Also, is there any benefit to installing the driver? ATI has one to download for the 9600. I can't find one for the nVidia. Any feedback appreciated. Thanks.
