As most of you already know, Apple released Safari 4 yesterday.

It's available via the normal Software Update gizmo.

So far so good on my Macs...

Some of the interface foibles of Safari 4 Beta have been rolled back.
But the ones that are left seem immutable - the defaults commands
that fixed 'em in 4beta don't seem to work. :\ Gotta find a fix for
this. I really dislike the uninformative lame "Loading"; I want my
real progress bar back!

Speed-wise, it's not too bad (right now) with Google's Safe Browsing
enabled. I say "right now" because I've seen it fast in the mornings
then bog as it got more hashes later in the day... We'll see. This
can be disabled, of course, by unchecking the
Preferences/Security/Fraudulent Sites box. Doing so is perhaps the
#1 thing you can do to speed up Safari.

The new WebKit and JavaScript engines are way fast. And yea, things
still bog horribly when Flash is involved. Other than blocking
Flash, there's just no fix for that as long as Adobe exists. I've
found that SafariBlock works well to tame Flash. If you're using
Leopard, there are other choices too.

If Safari 4 behaves badly, not accessing pages, crashes, etc, then
check to see what InputManagers and other plug-ins you're using.
Items like SIMBL and things that use it are once again high on the
broken list...

Here's some other errata:
