Yesterday I attempted to upgrade the primary HD in my G4/400 Sawtooth
from a 20Gb to an 80Gb drive.  I used Disk Utility's "Restore"
function to attempt to clone the 20Gb drive onto the 80Gb drive.  Now
when I install that 80Gb drive into the computer and attempt to boot
it, it hangs at the grey Apple logo.  I've read that this cloning
technique can cause bad permissions on the new drive (80Gb in my case)
so I've also tried running "Repair Disk Permissions" from Disk Utility
off the 10.4 DVD -- this seems to find lots of bad permissions on the
80Gb drive; I left it run overnight and checked this morning to find
that it froze 3/4 of the way through the permissions repair.  If I put
that 80Gb drive into an external case, it mounts on a different
computer, and the data I copied onto it is definitely there. Any
ideas?  Unfortunately I think I shorted something on the original 20Gb
drive during the swapping -- it no longer works at all.  :(

Thanks!
-Jim G
