You can Install Mac OS 10.3.9, your iMac can´t run 10.4 beacause it doesn´t have FireWire, you can easily upgrade the HD and the RAM, if you put a HD with over 128 GB of size, will not work. With 96MB of RAm you can run 10.2 "jaguar" but it will be very slow.
