Hey Steve,
     I had this problem with one of them and I needed the power cord for it... 
Some devices that you plug into them just can not handle the power from you 
computer and need their own power source... Those guys were wrong about that, 
maybe 1 or 2 but not all 4... Also what is the USB port in your machine? 2.0? 
Or smaller??? This could be a problem too???   CoolKat
