All,

I'm stumped. I have a G5 w/4 gig of RAM, running just great with Adobe
CS4 and Final Cut Pro Academic Version 5.1. I purchased a little (non-HD)
Canon FS100 video camera about 9 months ago that records to a SDHC card.

The images and sound are incredible, but I have never worked editing or
downloading them until now, because the quality and color was so impressive,
I just displayed them right out of the camera. Now, when paired up with a
wireless mike, the FS100 makes a very good platform for talking head videos.
At least that's what I thought. The FCP does not recognize the
individual files that the video seems to be broken up into (last count, about
32 all
of the same length) and only accessible down 3 clicks until the individual
file are reached, and then only as part of an import attempt that has them
listed as "standard" ie: I think they are talking format, since no other
choices would allow me to click any levels of names/directories more than
once.

At the point of the individual file name (using .img), the program comes
back with the error code saying it doesn't recognize the file format.

I attempted to access both the file downloaded to the desktop and directly
out of the camera. Neither the card directly out of the camera nor the file
downloaded to the desktop is readable.

Any ideas?
